High optical purity D-lactide

D-Lactide is a biodegradable resin monomer that is dimerized from high optical purity D-lactic acid. It is in the D form, not the L form. It can be used as a polymer grade made from high optical purity D-lactic acid with low amounts of moisture and acid. By using it as a monomer, it can contribute to the development of new biodegradable materials and biocompatible resins for medical applications and packaging materials. Japan Materials Research Institute also manufactures D-lactic acid and is advancing the development of poly D-lactic acid. High refractive index resin material "Pyridazine-based sulfur-containing diamine APP"

Examples of polyimide synthesis: High-refractive monomers with a refractive index of 1.7 or higher.

This product "APP" can impart high refractive index to polymers such as polyimide due to the high molecular refractive index and atomic refractive index of the pyridine skeleton and sulfur atom. The polyimide film after polymerization with ODPA (4,4'-Oxydiphthalic Anhydride) has been confirmed to have a high refractive index of 1.7 (measured at a wavelength of 633nm). Applications are anticipated in various optical components such as anti-reflective coatings, optical waveguides, and microlenses.
